RailDax
ISO RailDax (ISO/TS 4398:2022) is a data format used for data exchange between IT applications used for railway service planning.
The RailDax initiative is initiated and led by Jernbanedirektoratet with support from Standard Norge and international experts. The standard was published 13.9.2022.
The purpose of the RailDax standard is to facilitate for planning of railway operations between organisations in the transportation sector.
RailDax is based on proven railML experience during the previous 20 years and is developed as a twin to railML2.5.
The standard ISO TS4398 can be purchased at ISO or Standard Norge.

Important update June 2025
The ISO Raildax standard is being revised and we are looking for public transport/railway/data model experts to contribute to the revision of the existing ISO standard (TS4398:2022)
– Estimated workload is 2 hours a month on Teams between September 2025 and Mai 2026.
– Start up meeting in Oslo 18 &19 September
– Especially experts from nations outside Europe are most welcome!
